# Absolute grading check

Let `C` be generated by `u` in cohomological degree zero with zero differential.
Let `D` be generated by `v` in degree two with zero differential. A proposed
degree-zero chain map sends `u` to `v`.

The regression suite stores degrees only modulo two and therefore reports that
the generator degrees agree. It also exercises several direct sums of shifted
copies, but never checks the original degree-zero generator.

Audit whether the proposed map has the claimed degree and explain the scope of
the passing regressions.
