# Fact → Interpretation → Commentary / 사실 → 해석 → 논평 - English name: Fact → Interpretation → Commentary - Korean name: 사실 → 해석 → 논평 - Selection category: commentary - Use when: Use for opinion columns or analysis pieces that interpret a fact, event, or trend. - Avoid when: Avoid when the user needs a neutral report. ## Writing Pattern **Use this fixed three-step structure** - Fact - Center on objective information: statistics, data, cases, events - Cite clear sources and use broadly acceptable materials - Interpretation - Analyze what the fact means - Explain causality, background, and context - Go beyond summary to answer “Why is this important?” - Commentary - Present the speaker’s or organization’s point of view - May include takeaways, proposals, challenges, critiques, and strategic direction - Conclude with a message that persuades or prompts action ## Example Writing Outline 1. **Rising Youth Unemployment**: In 2023, youth unemployment climbed by 1.8 percentage points to 11.2%. (Fact) 2. **Background and Meaning**: Economic slowdown and hiring freezes jointly contributed; the effect is spreading to consumer demand. (Interpretation) 3. **Commentary on Employment Policy**: Instead of short-term subsidies, a structural shift toward entrepreneurship and skills training is urgent. (Commentary) ## Writing Notes - Facts must be verifiable; citing numbers and sources increases credibility. - In Interpretation, avoid repetition and focus on analysis—e.g., “Why did this number appear?” and “In what context did it arise?” - In Commentary, include the writer’s stance; don’t stop at neutrality—clarify attitude and direction on the topic. - Offer something to think about—new perspectives, calls to action, or challenges. - Keep the full chain natural: “This happened → Here’s what it means → Here’s how we think/act.”
