Epuron, a German wind energy company, needed to make wind tangible and sympathetic. The insight: wind is everywhere, it affects everyone, but it is always the invisible disruptor — it messes hair, blows papers, knocks things over. What if wind had feelings about this? ## Mechanic A 3-minute short film following a melancholic man (Mr. Wind) who tries to fit into human society but keeps accidentally causing chaos — blowing over displays, scattering papers, disrupting conversations. He falls in love. He cannot stop his nature. In the final scene he generates electricity for a lamp — for the first time, his power becomes useful. He finds his purpose. ## Why it worked P11 absurdism: personifying wind as a depressed social outcast is surreal but internally logical — the film commits completely. P16 long-form drama: the 3-minute format allowed genuine character development and emotional investment in a non-human protagonist. The emotional payoff (wind finds purpose as energy) translated directly to the brand promise without any claim being made. Cannes-winning work for a company no consumer had ever heard of — the film spread because it was genuinely moving. ## Steal Personify the invisible or the abstract. Give wind a face, give software a voice, give data a body. The personification must be internally consistent and emotionally true — the audience must care about the character before they care about the product. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p11]] - Sibling: [[metro-trains-dumb-ways-to-die-2012.md|Dumb Ways to Die]] - Sibling: [[old-spice-man-your-man-could-smell-like-2010.md|The Man Your Man Could Smell Like]] - Emotion match: [[guinness-surfer-1999.md|Surfer]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
