# Bell (GE · 2016)

## Insight
GE's brand of industrial innovation is disruptive — once it changes an industry, there is no going back. "You can't unring a bell" captures that irreversibility of technological progress.

## Mechanic
A film exploring the premise of an unringable bell through absurdist, extended narrative logic — likely combining literal bell imagery with surreal consequences and a narrative that escalates the absurdity, ending on a product or brand truth.

## Why it worked
Absurdism (P11) combined with long-form structure (P16) allows GE to communicate the spirit of irreversible technological change through a surreal story rather than a product demonstration. The approach makes industrial innovation feel playful and culturally relevant.

## Steal
Use idioms and clichés about change ("can't unring a bell," "cat out of the bag") as a literal absurdist premise for a film. The audience's familiarity with the phrase makes the visual absurdism land immediately.
