# Where There Are Cooks (Oatly · 2019)

## Insight
Oatly's brand voice is one of the most distinctive in food — irreverent, anti-corporate, and self-aware. The challenge is extending that voice into long-form without losing the spontaneity that makes it feel genuine.

## Mechanic
A film following cooks and chefs who use Oatly products — presented with Oatly's characteristic anti-advertising aesthetic: imperfect production, honest narration, and the brand's habitual refusal to follow food marketing conventions.

## Why it worked
P08 (craft as message) in an unusual form — the deliberate lo-fi aesthetic of Oatly's production quality is itself the brand proof. A brand that refuses to look like advertising, even in a film, demonstrates that its anti-corporate stance is genuine rather than strategic. P16 gives it enough time to build a world.

## Steal
If your brand's position is anti-advertising, the worst thing you can do is make a polished ad. Commit to the aesthetic that your stance demands — the production quality is the argument.
