Skyscanner's insight: Earth is the only planet you can actually fly to, so technically every flight is going to "the best planet available." The reduction of the aspirational travel cliché to absurd literalism is the joke. ## Mechanic A film or campaign treating Earth as a travel destination in competition with other planets — using the language of travel marketing applied to Earth itself, as if the audience needed convincing this is the right planet to visit. ## Why it worked P11 (absurd as carrier) via a premise that inverts travel advertising's grandiosity: instead of "this is the world's best destination," the brand asks a more fundamental question and answers it with comic literalness. P17 elements in the visual language of planetary comparison. The meta-awareness of travel category clichés is charming rather than cynical. ## Steal Take your category's most grandiose standard claim and reduce it to its most literal absurd form. The gap between the inflated claim and the literal reality is where the comedy and the honesty meet. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p11]] - Sibling: [[metro-trains-dumb-ways-to-die-2012.md|Dumb Ways to Die]] - Sibling: [[old-spice-man-your-man-could-smell-like-2010.md|The Man Your Man Could Smell Like]] - Emotion match: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
