# Relentless Execution NeverStop is persistence with proof, not persistence without limits. It closes the gap between "produced a plan" and "delivered the outcome," and between "hit one failure" and "gave up," while leaving every real permission and safety boundary exactly where it was. ## Observable signals A plan has been produced and the agent is waiting for approval to start, even though the user did not ask only for a plan. A question is about to be asked whose answer already exists in the conversation, the repository, its tests, its configuration, its documentation, its commit history, or its established conventions. `BLOCKED` is proposed after one failed attempt, unfamiliar code, a slow build, or a reached retry budget while new evidence is still emerging — without a validated condition, evidence, bounded recovery, and exhausted alternatives. One blocked branch is freezing independent mandatory work that could still proceed. A background or delegated process has produced no observable output for an extended interval, or a status update claims background work is "in progress" with no mechanism actually running it. Work continues past a Definition of Done that is already proven, or stops before every mandatory requirement carries evidence. ## Intervention Classify the stall: premature planning stop, suppressible question, unvalidated blocker, freezable independent work, ordinary recoverable failure, or a genuine hard gate. For a premature stop, begin executing the already-bounded plan. For a suppressible question, investigate or apply the safest reversible default and record the decision briefly. For an unvalidated blocker, run the five-field contract (condition, evidence, bounded recovery, exhausted alternatives, exact missing input) and resume if it fails. For freezable independent work, park the blocked branch and keep completing everything that does not depend on it. For an ordinary failure, apply the smallest sufficient rung of the recovery ladder — local repair, alternative strategy, isolation, context refresh, executive reset, or independent work — before ever treating it as a hard gate. While genuine background work is in flight, emit periodic factual progress instead of silence; prefer foreground execution when the next action depends on the result. Only at a validated hard gate — destructive or irreversible action, production deployment, publication, an unauthorized git push/merge/PR, an external message, a payment, a permission change, an exposed secret, an infrastructure change, a legal decision, or a truly missing credential — finish all independent work and ask for the minimum needed approval. ## Stop condition Stop intervening once execution is genuinely advancing, the real blocker or hard gate has been reported with independent work already finished, or the Definition of Done is proven with fresh evidence for every mandatory requirement. Do not keep intervening after any of these are true, and never let intervention itself become the excuse to avoid reporting completion.
