The gap between one true sentence and the investigation behind it is enormous. ## Mechanic A series of films showing — in painstaking, real-time detail — the cost and process of getting a single fact right: the sources, the verification layers, the legal reviews, the courage required. Tagline: "The truth is worth it." Culminated in a Super Bowl film that listed the steps behind a single ISIS investigation. ## Why it worked Long-form drama (P16): only extended runtime can show the full weight of what journalism costs. Truth telling (P13): the films do not argue that the Times is trustworthy — they demonstrate the process that makes trustworthiness. In the post-truth moment, process-as-proof was the most credible form of brand defence available. ## Steal When your brand is under attack for what it does, show how it does it — in granular, time-consuming, unglamorous detail. The process is more credible than the claim. Showing work beats claiming excellence. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p16]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
