# Football Decoded (Xbox · 2018)

## Insight
FIFA gameplay and real football share the same language — the same teams, players, tactics, and moments. For a generation of young fans, the game and the sport are equally valid entry points to football culture.

## Mechanic
An integrated campaign using Xbox/FIFA data and gameplay to decode real-world football moments — creating content that bridges the game and the sport, positioning Xbox as the platform that understands both.

## Why it worked
P05 (cultural hijack) of football culture using gaming data as the analytical lens. P09 (user as co-author) through data-driven content that gaming audiences could interpret and discuss. The campaign reached football fans through their gaming behaviour rather than through conventional sports sponsorship.

## Steal
When your product generates data that maps onto a cultural interest your audience already has, use that data to generate editorial content about the cultural interest. The product becomes the analytical frame for something they already care about.
