The category had shown only selected moments from this journey, systematically excluding the difficult ones. ## Mechanic An extended film combining animation and live action to portray the full spectrum of women's physical and emotional experiences across their reproductive lives — from first period to menopause, including miscarriage, failed fertility treatment, and the chronic pain of endometriosis. Animation was used specifically because it could render internal, invisible states that cameras cannot reach. ## Why it worked Long-form drama (P16) was essential — only an extended format could hold the emotional range across so many different experiences without feeling reductive. Truth-telling (P13): Libresse's platform escalation reached its highest point here — not just breaking taboos but actively filling in the stories the whole category had left blank. The animation technique was not decorative but structurally necessary. ## Steal When the experience you need to depict is internal, emotional, or physically invisible, animation is not a stylistic choice but a technical solution. Use it where live action creates a biological impossibility — the interior of the body, the texture of pain. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p16]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] - Emotion match: [[always-like-a-girl-2014.md|Like a Girl]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
