# Podcast distribution reference

Directory policies and regional support change. Check each platform's current official guidance before a live submission.

## NewsTune boundary

The plugin can publish an exact approved NewsTune series/episode scope, preserve/enable/disable RSS through the reviewed `rssAction`, and return public pages and a feed URL when enabled. It does not manage third-party accounts, verify ownership, accept directory terms, or guarantee review acceptance.

Before exact publishing, review both `publicScope.futurePublicEpisodeNumbersAfterAction` and the titled/status-bearing `futurePublicEpisodesAfterAction`. These episodes are still generating and are not readable or included as ready RSS enclosures yet, but they may become public automatically after completion. When either list is non-empty, enumerate it and obtain explicit user approval for that future-public effect as well as the immediately public scope.

## Spotify

Use Spotify for Creators to submit or claim an RSS-hosted show:

https://support.spotify.com/us/creators/article/getting-your-show-on-spotify/

The user completes login and feed ownership verification.

## Apple Podcasts

Add an RSS show through Apple Podcasts Connect:

https://podcasters.apple.com/support/897-submit-a-show

Apple validates the feed and may review the show. Ensure public audio, artwork, metadata, and owner-controlled contact details are ready.

## YouTube and YouTube Music

Where RSS delivery is available, use YouTube Studio's podcast RSS flow:

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/13525207

YouTube's eligibility, regional availability, episode choices, and generated static-image videos are separate from NewsTune.

## Before handoff

- The intended series and episode scope is public.
- Any still-generating episode that may become public after completion was explicitly approved from the exact preview.
- At least one selected episode is audio-ready with a public enclosure.
- The HTTPS feed loads and exposes only approved content.
- Title, description, author, language, category, artwork, and explicit setting are correct.
- The user controls the directory account and can complete verification.
