# Runtime method-lineage and rights boundary

MightShape's runtime uses three neutral lineage categories:

- `public_design_practice` — established design thinking methods described in public sources;
- `supplemental_design_practice` — methods from broader research, service-design, product, and experimentation practice;
- `mightshape_original` — product mechanisms authored specifically for MightShape.

These labels record methodological lineage. They do not claim that a third party created,
approved, certified, sponsored, or endorsed MightShape.

## Runtime-content rule

The plugin implements method ideas with independently written instructions, examples, schemas,
facilitation language, and visuals. Do not copy or closely paraphrase third-party course decks,
worksheets, facilitator scripts, source cards, examples, illustrations, diagrams, or distinctive
layouts. Do not bundle third-party PDFs or brand assets. Public availability alone is not a reuse
license.

If a contributor wants to adapt protected source expression rather than use the underlying idea,
stop and obtain a rights review before including it. Record the exact work, version, creator,
source URL, license, changes, and compatibility with this repository's distribution license.

## Attribution behavior

Normal user-facing prompts and exercise steps should describe the method itself, not use an outside
institution as product positioning. When a user explicitly asks about lineage, answer with the
neutral category and explain that a maintainer-facing source inventory exists. Do not imply that
all design thinking practices have one origin.

The source and rights inventory is maintained outside generated plugin packages in the source
repository under `docs/THIRD_PARTY_SOURCES.md`. That file is for audit and legal review; it is not a
runtime prompt or exercise reference.

## MightShape-original mechanisms

sealed response freezing and cross-pollination, Minority Report, Inquiry Lab's synthetic epistemic
layers, Solution Blackout, Concept Reveal, synthetic convergence warning, Reality Packets, Reality
Check, Build Gate, Design Debt, Evidence Debt, Assumption Burn-down, operating depths, and the named
UX grammar are MightShape mechanisms.
