Dior Homme found a third territory: the cinematic love affair — romantic, French, slightly dangerous. ## Mechanic A short film directed with cinematic craft (P08) in the vein of French nouvelle vague — a fleeting encounter, a rendezvous, ambiguity about what happens next. Minimal product presence (P07). Long-form narrative (P16) creating a mood rather than telling a story. ## Why it worked Luxury fragrance campaigns that achieve cultural longevity are those that function as short films rather than ads. P08 (craft as message) is essential: the quality of direction signals the quality of the fragrance without any product claim. P07 (invisible brand) works because Dior Homme's codes are so established that the brand can absent itself from the frame and remain present through tone. ## Steal Luxury products that are experienced through the senses (fragrance, taste) cannot be demonstrated — they can only be evoked. The craft of the evocation is the product proof. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p16]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] - Emotion match: [[metro-trains-dumb-ways-to-die-2012.md|Dumb Ways to Die]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
