The insight: make the ad itself a demonstration of urgency — a man who talks as fast as FedEx delivers. ## Mechanic A TV commercial featuring John Moschitta Jr. — then the world's fastest talker — delivering a corporate dialogue scene at extraordinary speed, listing FedEx's services and benefits in under 60 seconds. The commercial ends before the viewer fully processes what happened. Moschitta's speed was itself the proof of concept: if the ad can move this fast, the delivery can too. The campaign won multiple awards and is widely credited with establishing FedEx's brand voice in its category. ## Why it worked P14 (product as proof): the execution structure demonstrated the benefit rather than claiming it. P11 (absurd as carrier): a man talking at inhuman speed is inherently comic, and the comedy disarmed resistance while the information landed. The casting of a genuine speed-talking record holder gave the demonstration authenticity — it couldn't be dismissed as a trick. The commercial itself became a cultural reference point. ## Steal If your product's core benefit is speed, efficiency, or precision — make the communication itself demonstrate that quality structurally. Don't claim speed; perform it. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p11]] - Sibling: [[metro-trains-dumb-ways-to-die-2012.md|Dumb Ways to Die]] - Sibling: [[old-spice-man-your-man-could-smell-like-2010.md|The Man Your Man Could Smell Like]] - Emotion match: [[absolut-absolut-campaign-1981.md|Absolut _____]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
