The alternative: sell nothing, explain nothing, make something genuinely strange that people want to watch. ## Mechanic A yellow puppet called Flat Eric rides shotgun with a driver, nodding to techno music. No product logic. No lifestyle imagery. Minimal Levi's presence. Pure character, pure absurdism, pure music. The campaign made Flat Eric a UK celebrity; the Mr. Oizo soundtrack went to #1. ## Why it worked P11 (absurd) and P07 (invisible brand) working in tandem: when the brand is absent, the character fills the space. The product association occurs by proximity and tone, not by demonstration. Levi's denim codes are already culturally legible, so the brand could afford to disappear entirely and let a felt puppet carry the weight. ## Steal When your brand has strong existing cultural codes, consider removing it almost entirely and letting an unexpected character or mood create association through contrast. The more invisible the brand, the more confident the signal. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p16]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] - Emotion match: [[guinness-surfer-1999.md|Surfer]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
