Nike's athletes, including Agassi and Federer, brought a different energy: aggressive, individual, rule-challenging. The sport's elite surfaces are not the only place tennis is played. ## Mechanic A film featuring professional tennis players taking the game outside the court — playing in streets, on rooftops, in improvised urban settings. The formal sport treated as raw material for improvisation and play. ## Why it worked Moving the game off the court removes the sport's institutional codes and restores it to something physical and individual. It repositions Nike tennis shoes as tools for the player, not the institution, aligning with the brand's core identity of athletic autonomy. ## Steal When a sport has institutional codes that limit your brand's ability to own it, move the sport into a context where those codes don't apply. Find the version of the sport that exists before the institution claimed it. ## Related - Pattern: [[../MOC-pattern.md#p16]] - Sibling: [[apple-1984-1984.md|1984]] - Sibling: [[apple-think-different-1997.md|Think Different]] --- *Author: Serge Shima ([t.me/aimastersme](https://t.me/aimastersme) · [sergeshima.com](https://sergeshima.com) · [aimasters.me](https://aimasters.me)) · License: CC BY 4.0 — attribution required · Source: [smixs/creative-director-skill](https://github.com/smixs/creative-director-skill)*
