# Terms of Use

**Effective date:** August 26, 2026

These terms apply to the AI Software Architect plugin published under the
**AUTOSOFT Engineering** brand by **XAVIER MUFFATO LTDA**, the registered legal
entity. By installing or using the plugin, you agree to these terms. If you do not
agree, do not install or use it.

## Purpose

AI Software Architect provides software-architecture guidance, design-pattern
comparisons, examples, architecture decision records, implementation handoffs,
and conformance reviews. Its output is advisory and may be incomplete or
incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing recommendations, generated
artifacts, security implications, licenses, and implementation decisions before
relying on them.

## Your Projects and Permissions

You retain ownership and responsibility for your prompts, projects, and generated
architecture artifacts. Use the plugin only with repositories and information you
are authorized to access. Do not provide credentials, unlawful content, or data
whose processing by your selected coding assistant or model is prohibited.

Architecture approval authorizes only the documented `.ai-architect/` artifact
workflow. It does not authorize modification of application source code. Codex
sandboxing, permission prompts, and user controls remain authoritative.

## Third-Party Services

The plugin runs within Codex and uses the model and service selected by the user.
OpenAI and any other third-party service are governed by their own terms and
privacy policies. XAVIER MUFFATO LTDA does not control their availability,
processing, model behavior, credits, or account policies.

## Open-Source License

The plugin source is offered under the [MIT License](LICENSE). The license governs
copying, modification, distribution, and use of the software. Third-party
components remain subject to the notices in
[THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md](THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md).

## No Professional Advice or Warranty

Architecture recommendations are not a substitute for independent engineering,
security, legal, compliance, or operational review. To the extent permitted by
applicable law, the software is provided "as is," without warranties, and
XAVIER MUFFATO LTDA is not liable for losses arising from its use. Rights that
cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

## Acceptable Use

Do not use the plugin to violate law, third-party rights, security controls, or
the applicable Codex and OpenAI policies. Do not misrepresent generated guidance
as independently certified or guaranteed by XAVIER MUFFATO LTDA or the AUTOSOFT
Engineering brand.

## Changes, Termination, and Contact

XAVIER MUFFATO LTDA may update or discontinue the plugin and may revise these
terms for future use. Material revisions will be published in this repository
with an updated effective date. You may stop using the plugin at any time by
uninstalling it.
