# Catalyst monitor — report template

Follow this structure. Keep the section order. Every catalyst carries a date or window — where the date is unknown, write the expected quarter and mark it as undated. Add inline citations `[1]`, `[2]` immediately after claims, hyperlinked to the document URL.

---

```markdown
# Catalyst Monitor: [Company Name] ([Ticker])
Report Date: [Date]
Horizon: [Next 2-4 quarters, through [Date]]
## Executive Summary
[2-3 sentences: the 2-3 catalysts that dominate the horizon and what each would change. Not a list — a ranking.]
## What's Already Priced
[Brief: consensus estimates, current multiples, sentiment. Every catalyst below is framed against this baseline.]
## Catalysts Ranked by Expected Impact
| # | Catalyst | Date / window | Type | Direction | Magnitude | Confidence (date / outcome) | What to watch |
|---|----------|---------------|------|-----------|-----------|------------------------------|---------------|
| 1 | | | Scheduled / Foreseeable | Positive / Negative / Two-sided | High / Med / Low | | |
| 2 | | | | | | | |
| 3 | | | | | | | |
| 4 | | | | | | | |
| 5 | | | | | | | |
### Catalyst 1: [Name]
- **Date:** [Exact or window; note if undated but expected]
- **What happens:** [The event itself, factually]
- **Why it matters:** [Tied to a value driver — revenue, margin bps, overhang, multiple]
- **Bull resolution:** [What a good outcome looks like and what it implies]
- **Bear resolution:** [What a bad outcome looks like and what it implies]
- **Watch signal:** [The specific indicator that tells you which way it went]
### Catalyst 2: [Name]
[Same structure]
### Catalyst 3: [Name]
[Same structure]
## Chronological Calendar
| Date | Event | Type | Expected impact |
|------|-------|------|-----------------|
| | | Scheduled / Foreseeable | High / Med / Low |
## Scheduled Events
[Earnings dates, investor days, conferences, index reviews, lock-up expiries — from the events calendar and filings]
## Foreseeable Unscheduled Events
[Regulatory decisions, litigation milestones, product cycles, contract renewals, refinancings — with expected windows and the basis for each estimate]
## Undated but Material
[Events that are likely but have no timetable. Say why they are expected and what would put a date on them.]
## Net Assessment
**Closing (structured):** Net assessment: [Positive/Negative/Neutral] because [specific]; key risk: [X]; next catalyst: [Y] ([date]).
## Sources
  ALWAYS include a "Sources" section listing ALL documents referenced with:
   - Reference number matching the inline superscript number
   - Source name and publication date (MMM DD, YYYY) hyperlinked to the URL
   **Example:**
   [2] (Benzinga - Nov 20, 2025)[https://www.benzinga.com/node/...]
