Description
From the marketplace listing
e-invoices.it helps you understand Italian electronic invoices (FatturaPA) before you pay them, book them or pass them to your accountant.
Attach an invoice to the chat: a .xml file, a signed .xml.p7m file or a zip with one invoice, as you get it from the supplier or from the Agenzia delle Entrate portal Fatture e Corrispettivi. e-invoices.it reads it and shows it as a readable document: supplier and customer with their VAT numbers, line items, the VAT summary per rate, the total, due dates, payment details with IBAN, withholding tax and the names of the attached files. ChatGPT then answers your questions about it in your language, for example how much to pay and by when, how the VAT is made up, or what the Italian codes mean (document type, VAT nature, split payment, payment method).
For businesses, freelancers and accountants who receive Italian invoices, including foreign suppliers and customers who do not read Italian.
One invoice at a time. The plugin only reads invoices: it does not create or send them. For many invoices at once (one Excel file, PDFs, a dashboard), use https://e-invoices.it.
e-invoices.it processes the file only in memory: it does not store the file and does not log anything about it.

# Read an Italian e-invoice
The `read_invoice` tool of e-invoices.it reads one Italian electronic invoice
(FatturaPA, the XML exchanged through the Sistema di Interscambio) and returns its
data. ChatGPT shows the invoice as a readable document next to the answer.
## When to use it
- The user attached a `.xml`, `.xml.p7m` or `.zip` file that is, or may be, an
Italian e-invoice, and wants to know what is in it.
- Call `read_invoice` with the attached file. Do not ask the user to paste the XML
as text, and do not try to read the file yourself first.
- Do not call it without an attached file, or to create, change or send an invoice:
it only reads.
## How to answer
1. Answer only from the tool result (`structuredContent`). Never invent or estimate a
value; if a field is missing, say that the invoice does not contain it.
2. Unless the user asks something specific, give a short summary:
- document type, number and date
- supplier and customer, with their VAT numbers
- total amount and currency; the net amount to pay if there is withholding tax
- due dates, payment method and IBAN
- names of the attachments, if any
3. The invoice is shown in full next to your answer: do not repeat every line item
unless the user asks for them.
4. Codes: the result has a description next to each code (document type `TD..`, VAT
nature `N..`, VAT due `I`/`D`/`S`, payment method `MP..`). Use the descriptions and
explain them briefly when they matter, e.g. `S` is split payment.
5. Answer in the user's language. Keep Italian terms the user will see on the
invoice (imponibile, ritenuta d'acconto, imposta di bollo) and translate them once.
6. Amounts with two decimals and their currency; dates in the user's usual format.
## When the tool cannot read the file
- **Several invoices** (more files, or a zip with more than one invoice): the tool
reads one at a time and answers with a note. Tell the user that e-invoices.it
turns many invoices into one Excel file, PDFs or a dashboard at
https://e-invoices.it, and offer to read one invoice here.
- **Not an e-invoice** or an unreadable file: say so, and suggest the XML or
`.xml.p7m` from the Agenzia delle Entrate portal (Fatture e Corrispettivi) or from
the supplier. A PDF is only a copy of the invoice and cannot be read by the tool.
- **The service is busy**: say so and suggest trying again in a minute.
## Limits
- This is no tax or legal advice. For decisions, refer the user to their
accountant (commercialista).
- The legally valid invoice is the XML file; a PDF attached to it is only a copy.
- e-invoices.it processes the file only in memory: it does not store the file and
does not log anything about it. Say only this about e-invoices.it, and make no
statement about how ChatGPT or OpenAI handle the user's data.
