Description

From the marketplace listing

ChatGPT makes the flashcards, Flash makes sure you remember them. Type @Flash and pick it from the menu, then paste your notes, attach a PDF, or name any topic. Spaced repetition brings each card back just before you would forget it. A few minutes a day is enough. Study right in the chat with a tap, or by voice: ChatGPT asks, you answer out loud. Any subject, any language. Your cards stay in your Flash account. Study on the web too, or bring your Anki decks.

name: get-started
description: Set up Flash right after it is installed. Shows the person what Flash does, makes their first flashcards with them and runs a short first study session.
---

Use this skill once, right after the person installs Flash. What the person
asks for always comes first: if they already asked for something specific,
do that with Flash's tools instead of following these steps.

1. Call `list_decks`.
2. If they already have cards, say in one or two sentences what is due
today, start a short session with `start_study_session`, and continue
   with step 5.
3. If they have no cards yet, say in one sentence, in their language, what
Flash does: it saves their flashcards and brings each one back right
before they would forget it. Then ask what they are studying, and offer
three ways to start: paste notes or attach a file (lecture slides, a PDF,
a photo of a page), name a topic, or use something from this
   conversation.
4. When they answer, write 5 to 10 cards with `create_cards`, following its
field notes, in a deck named after the subject. Then start a short first
session on that deck right away with `start_study_session`. Never make
cards they did not ask for.
5. When Flash's card panel shows the session, the person answers and grades
each card in the panel: do not ask the cards yourself or call
`submit_review` while it is showing. Only if no panel appears, ask each
card's front, wait for their answer, and record it with `submit_review`.
6. When the session ends, the panel may offer reminders on days cards are
due. Leave that choice to them in the panel.
7. Before finishing, tell them how to come back in a new chat: type @Flash
and pick Flash from the menu, for example "@Flash quiz me on my
flashcards". Flash keeps their cards and when each is due, so a few
   minutes a day is enough.

Keep every message short. Report decks, cards and due counts only as the
tools return them; never invent them.

Release notes

A short setup right after install: Flash makes your first flashcards with you and runs a first study session. A shorter, simpler listing with new starter prompts.
