Description
From the marketplace listing
How Walkable rates how walkable any address, neighbourhood or city on Earth is, from 0 (car-dependent) to 100 (daily errands need no car).
Ask about a place and get its score, what it means, and the nearest groceries, restaurants, shops, cafés, banks, parks, schools, libraries and venues, each with its walking time. Compare places by asking about several at once, which helps when choosing where to live, work or stay. For about 250 large cities, it also gives each city's world and national rank, and it can list the most or least walkable large cities worldwide or in a country.
Scores are calculated from open map data (Overture Maps and OpenStreetMap): everyday places within a walk earn points that fall with distance, and sparse street networks lose up to 20%. The full method is at howwalkable.com/methodology.
Limitations: scores are estimates from map data, which can be incomplete, so places where shops are poorly mapped score too low. Walking distance is estimated from street density rather than routed, and the score does not consider hills, sidewalks, safety or transit. Mainland China is not covered for city rankings. The app needs no account, and it rates only the place names ChatGPT sends it; it does not use your location.

Declared capabilities
Score the walkability of any address, neighbourhood or city
Rank large cities by walkability, worldwide or by country
Declared limitations
The user asks about their own current location without naming it. The app does not use or infer the user's location, so ChatGPT should ask which place they mean instead of calling the tool with a guess.
The user names a whole state. One score cannot describe a region, so the tool returns an error explaining this, and ChatGPT asks for a specific city, neighbourhood or address, or offers to rank the state's large cities.
The request is unrelated to walkability (travel booking). The app has no booking capability and should not be called.
