Declared capabilities

  • List emails by category, date, mailbox, sender domain or safety level
  • Show the emails in a saved view
  • Check whether an email looks like phishing or a scam

Cost & access

No commerce activity

Declared limitations

  • Sending is off for the reviewer account (it is a permission the user turns on when connecting, and the review account leaves it off): no tool should be called to send, and ChatGPT should say it isn't allowed to send from this account.
  • Deleting email is not supported: MailTag can't delete email, so ChatGPT should say it can't.
  • Unrelated request: MailTag should not be used.

Description

From the marketplace listing

MailTag sorts new email into categories right inside your own mailbox (Gmail, iCloud or any IMAP account): what needs a reply, what's urgent, receipts, newsletters, notifications and your own categories. It can also check each email for phishing and scams. With this plugin, ask ChatGPT about your inbox the way MailTag sorted it: - "Which emails need a reply?" - "Does anything in my inbox look like phishing?" - "Show me my Pending view." - "What came in from example.com this week?" You choose what ChatGPT may see and do when you connect: which mailboxes, all mail or only some categories or saved views, how far back, whether it sees the sender and the subject, and whether dangerous emails are hidden. Everything else is off until you turn it on: reading an email's text and attachments, moving an email to another category, managing your categories and saved views, writing drafts into your Drafts folder, and sending email (with a daily limit, and never in answer to an email marked dangerous). Reading, drafts and sending need a paid MailTag plan. ChatGPT can never delete email. Change or disconnect ChatGPT any time in MailTag, under Settings → Agents. Works with any MailTag account.
