Mzelo Watch Party
Ratanpal Singh v1.0.1
Publisher description
From the marketplace listing
Mzelo Watch Party sets up a private room on mzelo.com where friends can watch a YouTube video together, in sync, and chat while they watch. Ask ChatGPT to watch something with friends and either share a YouTube link or say what you'd like to watch. Mzelo creates a room with that video ready to play and gives you a link. Share the link: anyone who has it can join from a browser, with no account or install needed. The first person to open the room gets the remote, so they can play and pause for everyone. Who it's for: friends, couples, families and groups who live apart and want to watch the same video at the same time. Limitations: works with public and unlisted YouTube videos that allow embedding; private, removed, age-restricted and embed-blocked videos can't be used. Each request creates one new room; asking again for the same video within a few minutes gives you the same room. When you describe a topic instead of giving a link, Mzelo picks one safe-search YouTube result. Rooms are created on mzelo.com, so watching happens there, not inside ChatGPT. To prevent abuse, the number of rooms one person can create per hour and per day is limited.

--- name: get-started description: How to start a Mzelo watch party for a YouTube video and share it with friends. --- # Watch YouTube with friends on Mzelo Use the `create_watch_party` tool when someone wants to watch a YouTube video together with other people online, at the same time. - If they gave a YouTube link, pass it as `youtube_url`. - Otherwise pass what they want to watch as `topic` (for example "lofi hip hop" or "a nature documentary"); one safe-search YouTube result is chosen. - Call it once per request: every call creates a new room. The tool returns a room link on mzelo.com. Tell the user to open it and share it with the people they want to watch with. Anyone with the link can join from a browser without an account, and the first person to open the room gets the remote to play and pause for everyone. Only YouTube is supported. Private, removed, age-restricted and embed-blocked videos can't be used; if one is refused, ask for a different video.
