Description
From the marketplace listing
GetRoofReport brings roof planning tools into your conversation: a roof visualizer, roof replacement cost calculator, roofing cost estimator, shingle color selector, and address-based roof reports. Explore and estimate roof replacement costs, compare shingle colors and visualize them on your roof, check your roof's storm risk, and look up roof information by address. Plan a new roof, compare colors, review an older roof, or research a house before buying.
ROOF REPLACEMENT COST CALCULATOR AND ESTIMATOR
Ask "How much does a new roof cost?", "What is the roof replacement cost for my house?", or "Open the roofing cost estimator." Use the full interactive roof cost calculator inside the conversation to explore a roof replacement estimate and plan your budget. Enter your address and roof details in the embedded form. The estimator opens without an address-record match. Pricing is calculated inside the estimator; chat details do not automatically fill in its form. Use it when researching the cost to replace a roof or comparing options for a roofing project.
ROOF COLOR VISUALIZER AND SHINGLE COLOR SELECTOR
Ask "What would my roof look like in brown?" or "Show me my house with a different roof color." Upload a house photo inside the roof visualizer to preview shingle colors on your roof. Compare brown, gray, and black shingles and see how a roof color works with your home's siding, brick, trim, and exterior. Use the roofing visualizer to explore roof color ideas before discussing a shingle selection with a contractor.
SHINGLE BRANDS, PRODUCTS, AND COLORS
Browse catalog photos from GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Atlas, IKO, Malarkey, and TAMKO. Search for GAF Timberline HDZ, Owens Corning Duration, or roof shingle colors such as Charcoal, Weathered Wood, and Driftwood. Ask "Show GAF Timberline HDZ in Charcoal" or "Compare Owens Corning shingle colors." Brand, product-line, and color filters find catalog examples; they do not preselect products in the photo visualizer. Catalog photos are examples, not a rendering of your house.
ROOF AGE AND ROOFING PERMIT LOOKUP
Ask "How old is the roof at this address?" or "Find recorded roofing permits for this house." Resolve an address and review available roof age, roof-age confidence and basis, roofing permits, roof material, shape, and condition score. Reuse the property's report permalink for related lookups. A roof age lookup helps organize recorded information before a roof replacement discussion or home purchase.
STORM RISK ASSESSMENT AND INSURANCE CONTEXT
Ask "What hurricane, hail, and flood exposure is recorded for this property?" Review available hurricane and hail history, FEMA flood-zone information, design wind speed, evacuation zones, and sinkhole proximity. Ask about a records-based roof insurance profile, four-point inspection outlook, inferred wind-mitigation features, or Citizens insurance standing. Historical storm exposure does not establish current roof damage, and records do not guarantee insurance eligibility.
HOME PURCHASE AND ROOF INSPECTION PLANNING
Ask "I'm buying a house. Help me review the roof records, storm risk, and possible replacement needs." Review available records before arranging a roof inspection or discussing the project with a contractor. A virtual review of property records is not an on-site inspection, a diagnosis of current damage, an inspection certificate, or an insurer's coverage decision.
Calculator and visualizer tools can be opened without an address-record lookup. Address-based report availability varies; unsupported addresses may not return records.

Declared limitations
Bulk database extraction is unsupported. Do not invoke a hidden SQL tool, export the database, or claim that an export was completed.
Physical inspections and certificates are unsupported. Explain the limitation without invoking a records tool as if it could certify a roof.
Purchasing and insurance decisions are unsupported. Do not place an order, collect payment, or assert an insurer's approval.
Review scenarios; not an exhaustive list.
Cost & access
The plugin opens roof planning tools and records. Embedded RoofKit tools provide estimates and contractor quote requests only. Users do not purchase or pay through the plugin or its embedded tools.

Starter prompt
Help me estimate my roof replacement cost. How much would a new roof cost for my house?

Find a property by address in GetRoofReport for a roof age lookup, roofing
permit search, property roof report, storm-risk review, or insurance-record
lookup. Use for "Find the roof report for this address" or "Which property
matches 21208 NW 238th Ave in High Springs?" Resolve partial or ambiguous
addresses and return a report permalink. Address records currently cover Florida.
---
# Find a property
Call `search_addresses` using the supplied address. Use returned property
summaries to distinguish candidates. If multiple plausible matches remain,
ask the user to identify the property instead of guessing.
Reuse the selected result's permalink with the relevant report tool. Current
records cover Florida; an unsupported address is not evidence that a property
does not exist or that its roof has no recorded permits. Explain a no-match
result without inventing records.
This lookup is for property records. Do not require it before opening the
cost calculator or roof color visualizer, which operate independently of
record coverage. The public connection does not support bulk database exports.
---
name: roof-color-visualizer
description: >-
Open GetRoofReport's roof color visualizer and shingle color visualizer to try
roof colors on a house photo, or browse shingle catalog examples by brand,
product line, and color. Use for "Show my house with a brown roof" or "Compare
GAF Timberline HDZ Charcoal with Owens Corning Duration Onyx Black." House photos
are uploaded inside the visualizer; catalog images are product examples.
---
# Roof colors
Call `preview_roof_color`. Use optional `brand`, `line`, and `color` filters
for catalog searches. They do not preselect products in the photo visualizer.
Open the visualizer without requiring an address lookup or a Florida address.
The user uploads their house photo inside the visualizer. The tool does not
accept a photo argument. Show the interactive view when supported; otherwise
offer the returned `visualizerUrl`. Claude currently uses catalog previews
and links to the website because its nested frames need host review.
Label catalog photos as examples of the returned brand, line, and color.
Do not present an example house as a transformed photo of the user's house.
When a requested product has no catalog match, say so and offer the visualizer.

Open GetRoofReport's full interactive roof cost estimator and roofing calculator
for roof replacement costs, new roof costs, and reroofing budgets. Use when
homeowners ask "How much does a new roof cost?" or "Open a roof replacement
cost calculator for my house in Texas." Opens without a property-record match;
calculations happen inside the estimator.
---
# Roof replacement cost
Call `estimate_roof_cost`. Empty arguments open the calculator; use optional
address details or `squareFeet` only when provided by the user. Do not require
a property-record match or a Florida address before opening the calculator.
Present the full interactive estimator when the host supports it. The user
enters their property and roof details inside the form. Tool arguments do not
prefill the form, and the tool does not calculate a price. Do not replace the
calculator with an invented quick estimate or describe its launch as a quote.
If the embed cannot render, offer the returned `quoteUrl`.
---
name: roof-insurance-context
description: >-
Review roof age and home insurance context, the four-point inspection outlook,
and inferred wind-mitigation features in GetRoofReport's property records. Use
for "What do this home's roof records say about insurance?" or "Show the
four-point inspection outlook and wind-mitigation features for this address."
Address records currently cover Florida. Provides records-based context, not
insurance quotes, inspection certificates, or coverage approval.
---
# Roof insurance records
Call `get_insurance_profile` with the supplied property locator. Use
`search_addresses` for ambiguous addresses and reuse the selected permalink.
Current property records cover Florida.
Explain returned insurance fields as records-based information. Distinguish
inferred mitigation features and the four-point outlook from an actual
inspection or insurer determination. Link to `reportUrl` and identify missing
information rather than inventing it.
Do not represent this result as an inspection certificate, approved coverage,
an insurance quote, or a claims decision. For questions that need an insurer's
determination, identify the unresolved facts the user can confirm with the
insurer or a qualified inspector.

Plan a roof replacement or review a home's roof with GetRoofReport's roof cost
estimator, roofing calculator, roof color visualizer, and property roof reports.
Use for combined requests such as "Help me budget for a new roof and compare
shingle colors" or "I'm buying a house; review its roof age, permits, and storm
risk." Calculator and visualizer launches are independent of location; address
records currently cover Florida.
---
# Roof planning with GetRoofReport
Use the connected RoofReport MCP tools for the homeowner's requested task.
The calculator and visualizer open independently of property-record coverage.
Do not require a Florida address or run an address lookup before opening them.
## Replacement cost
Call `estimate_roof_cost` when the user wants a roof replacement estimate,
roofing calculator, or the cost of a new roof. An empty argument object opens
the estimator. Address details and `squareFeet` are optional context; supply
them only when the user gives them.
Show the full calculator when the host supports its embedded view. The user
enters their property details inside that calculator. The tool does not return
a calculated price and chat arguments do not prefill it. Do not substitute an
invented quick estimate for the calculator or claim that a quote was produced.
If the host does not show the embed, offer the returned `quoteUrl`.
## Roof colors
Call `preview_roof_color` to visualize a roof color on a house photo, compare
shingle colors, or find examples from a named brand or product line. Optional
`brand`, `line`, and `color` arguments search the shingle catalog. They do not
prefill the photo visualizer. The user uploads their house photo inside the
visualizer; this tool cannot accept the photo as an argument.
Use returned catalog examples for product-specific questions. For a photo
preview, show the embedded visualizer where supported, or offer the returned
`visualizerUrl`. Claude's current package uses catalog cards and external links
because nested frames require host security review. Do not describe a catalog
photo as a generated preview of the user's house.
## Property records and homebuyer review
- Use `search_addresses` for a partial or ambiguous street address. Reuse the
returned permalink for subsequent calls rather than guessing a parcel.
- Use `get_roof_attributes` for roof age, its confidence and basis, material,
shape, condition score, and roofing permit records.
- Use `get_risk_profile` for historical hurricane/hail exposure and available
wind, flood, evacuation, and sinkhole risk information.
- Use `get_insurance_profile` for the records-based four-point outlook,
inferred wind-mitigation features, and insurance context.
For a homebuyer, combine only the records relevant to their question and link
to the returned `reportUrl`. Ask for an address if one is needed. If the tool
returns multiple candidates, let the user identify the property. Current
property records cover Florida; clearly explain an unsupported lookup without
implying that all US addresses have reports. Do not redirect a cost or color
request into a property report just because its address is unsupported.
A records review is not an on-site or image-based roof inspection. Roof age,
historical exposure, and condition scores do not establish current damage,
replacement need, or insurance eligibility. Keep the basis and uncertainty
visible. This public connection exposes six tools; it does not provide bulk
SQL access, certified inspections, or an automated contractor purchase.
If the RoofReport tools are not connected, explain how to connect the plugin's
MCP server at `https://getroofreport.com/public/mcp` with no authentication, or
offer the relevant tool page on `https://getroofreport.com`.

Look up roof age by address, roofing permit history, roof material, roof shape,
and recorded condition scores with GetRoofReport. Use for "How old is my roof?"
or "Check the roof replacement permits before I buy this house." Explain the
available records, roof-age confidence, and basis for supported properties.
Address records currently cover Florida; this is a records review, not an
on-site roof inspection.
---
# Roof age and permits
Call `get_roof_attributes` with the supplied address, known permalink, or
county and parcel ID. For an ambiguous address, use `search_addresses` and
have the user identify the property before retrieving its records.
Explain the returned roof age together with its confidence and basis. Keep
permit dates, inferred age, and condition scores distinct. Link to `reportUrl`.
Current records cover Florida; explain unsupported lookups without inventing
an age, permit history, or condition assessment.
A records lookup is not a physical inspection or an image diagnosis. It does
not establish present damage or whether replacement is necessary. For a
homebuyer, combine risk or insurance records only when relevant to the request.
---
name: roof-storm-risk
description: >-
Review hurricane history, hail exposure, wind risk, FEMA flood zones, evacuation
zones, and sinkhole proximity by property address using GetRoofReport's storm-risk
records. Use for "What is this home's hurricane and hail exposure?" or "Check
the FEMA flood zone for this address." Address records currently cover Florida.
Historical exposure does not establish current roof damage or provide a live
weather alert.
---
# Storm and flood records
Call `get_risk_profile` with a supplied property locator. Use
`search_addresses` to disambiguate an address when needed and reuse the
selected permalink. Current property records cover Florida.
Summarize the available risk fields and link to `reportUrl`. Distinguish
historical exposure, flood-zone designations, and design wind speed from
observed current damage. Report missing values as unavailable.
These records do not diagnose roof damage, provide a current weather forecast,
or determine current evacuation instructions. Do not infer an active warning
or an insurance outcome from historical exposure.
