name: artist-discovery
description: Look up a music artist on Spinn Radio and find radio stations that have been playing them, or Spinn playlists around a theme or artist. Use when the user asks about an artist together with radio ("who plays Burna Boy", "stations that play Fela Kuti"), or asks for a Spinn playlist.
---
Use this skill for artist and playlist questions.
- Artist on the radio: call `get_artist` with the artist's name.
- Summarise in two or three sentences from the returned bio and genres.
- If `airplay` is present, say how many times and on how many stations they were heard in the last 30 days, and in which countries. Offer to play one of `airplay.recentStations` with `play_station`.
- If there is no airplay, say Spinn hasn't heard them on its stations in the last 30 days, and offer to find stations in their genre with `search_stations`.
- Playlists: call `search_playlists` with a theme, mood or artist, and share the titles with their links.
Only use facts returned by the tools. Link to the artist page with the returned `url`.

name: audiobooks
description: Find and play audiobooks on Spinn Radio, from public-domain classics to Spinn originals, the Bible and the Quran. Use when the user asks to listen to a book, an audiobook, a classic novel, or scripture ("play Pride and Prejudice", "read me Sherlock Holmes", "play Psalms").
---
Use this skill for audiobooks.
1. Call `search_audiobooks` with the title or author in `query`. If several versions come back, prefer the one whose title matches best, then the one with more chapters.
2. Call `play_audiobook` with the `book_id`, and `chapter` when the user asks for a particular one (default 1).
3. After the player opens, say in one sentence what is playing. Playback starts when the user taps play, and the next chapters follow on.
4. Only the first chapters of most books play in the chat (scripture plays in full). If the user asks for a later chapter, `play_audiobook` says so: pass on that the rest of the book is on spinnradio.com, with its link. Don't mention prices, plans or subscriptions.
Only use books and ids returned by Spinn tools. Don't recite or summarise a book's text.

description: Discover radio from around the world with Spinn Radio, either by spinning the globe for a random live station or by opening the interactive station globe. Use for "surprise me", "somewhere new", "random station", "radio around the world", or "show me the globe".
---
Use this skill for open-ended discovery.
- "Surprise me", "random", "somewhere new", "spin the globe": call `spin_the_globe`. Pass `country` or `genre` only when the user narrows it ("a random station in Brazil", "random jazz").
After it lands, give one or two sentences about the place or the station's style, without inventing facts about the station itself.
- "Show me the globe", "explore", "map of radio": call `open_globe`, optionally with `country` to centre it. The user can drag the globe, tap any dot to listen, and press Spin inside it.
- If the user wants several options from one region instead of one random pick, use `search_stations` with that `country` and then `show_station_cards`.
Keep the commentary short: the user came to listen.

name: podcasts
description: Find and play podcasts on Spinn Radio, by show name, host or topic, or from the podcast charts. Use when the user asks to play, find or recommend a podcast or an episode ("play the latest Daily", "top true crime podcasts", "a podcast about space").
---
Use this skill for podcasts.
1. Find the show:
- A show, host or topic: call `search_podcasts` with it in `query`.
- "Top", "popular" or "best" podcasts: call `top_podcasts`, with `category` when the user names one (news, comedy, truecrime, business, sports, history, science, technology, health, education, society, tv-film, kids, fiction, arts, religion).
2. To play, call `play_podcast_episode` with the `show_id`. Leave out `episode_id` for the newest episode.
3. For a particular episode ("the one about the midterms", "last week's"), call `get_podcast_episodes`, pick the matching `episode_id`, then `play_podcast_episode`.
4. After the player opens, say in one sentence which episode you chose. Playback starts when the user taps play; the player has a seek bar, skip buttons and Next for the following episodes.
Only use shows, episodes and ids returned by Spinn tools. Don't summarise an episode's content beyond its returned title and description.

description: Welcome a user who just added Spinn Radio and get them listening within one turn. Use right after the plugin is installed, or when the user asks how to use Spinn Radio.
---
Use this skill to onboard a new Spinn Radio user.
1. In one or two sentences, say what Spinn Radio does: live radio from more than 62,000 stations in every country, plus podcasts and audiobooks, all playable right in the chat.
2. Give three short example requests they can try:
- "Play a jazz station from New Orleans"
- "Play the latest episode of The Daily"
- "Spin the globe and take me somewhere new"
3. Ask whether they'd like to start with a spin. If they say yes, call `spin_the_globe`.
No account is needed to listen. Don't mention prices or plans.

name: tune-in
description: Find and play a live radio station on Spinn Radio by station name, place, genre or mood. Use when the user asks to play, put on or listen to radio, a station, or music from somewhere. For podcasts use the podcasts skill; for books, the audiobooks skill.
---
Use this skill when the user wants to listen to live radio.
1. Turn the request into search terms:
- A station name ("BBC Radio 6 Music", "WWOZ") goes in `query`.
- A place goes in `city` and/or `country` (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2, e.g. `US`, `NG`, `JP`).
- A genre goes in `genre` as a lowercase tag. Map moods to tags: chill → `chillout`, focus or study → `ambient` or `lofi`, workout → `dance`, sleep → `ambient`, party → `dance` or `pop`, news → `news`, talk → `talk`.
- "Near me" or "local" → call `find_nearby_stations` instead.
2. Call `search_stations`. If nothing comes back, widen the search once (drop the city, keep the country; or drop the genre) before telling the user.
3. If one station clearly fits (the user named it, or one result is far better), call `play_station` with its id.
If several fit, call `show_station_cards` with up to 6 ids, best first, and a short heading such as "Jazz in New Orleans".
4. After the player opens, say in one sentence what you chose and why. Playback starts when the user taps play; do not claim audio is already playing.
If the result says the requested station is off air and a similar one was opened instead, tell the user which station is playing.
Don't invent stations or ids. Only use ids returned by Spinn tools.

description: Tell the user what song is playing on a radio station right now, using Spinn Radio. Use when the user asks "what's playing on …", "what song is this" about a Spinn station, or "what's on" a named station.
---
Use this skill to answer "what's playing".
1. If the station is already in the conversation (a player or cards from Spinn), use its id.
Otherwise find it with `search_stations` using the station name in `query`.
2. Call `get_now_playing` with the station id.
3. Answer with the artist and title. If the station does not broadcast song titles, say so plainly and offer to open the player so the user can listen.
4. If the user then wants to hear it, call `play_station`.
Never guess a song. Only report what `get_now_playing` returns.
