Description
From the marketplace listing
The Bidit Registry is a public index of online retailers answering two questions a shopper asks before paying the listed price: will this retailer match a lower price, and on what terms, and can I make it an offer instead of paying the sticker price?
Every price-match answer is checked by a person against the retailer's own published policy, with the policy page linked. Where nothing has been verified the answer is unknown, never a guess. A retailer is reported as taking offers only when it is live on Bidit, the negotiation engine for online stores.
Four read-only tools: will_price_match (yes, no or unknown, with terms, exclusions and how to claim), price_policy (everything verified about a retailer's handling of price), retailers_that_price_match (verified retailers in a country and category), and can_make_offer (yes or not yet, with the offer link). No login is needed. The data is open under CC BY 4.0.
Limitations: the Registry reports published policy; it does not negotiate, buy, or check live prices. Coverage is deepest for Australian retailers.

description: How to ask the Bidit Registry about a retailer's price terms, and how to report what it says.
---
The Bidit Registry answers two questions about an online retailer: will it match a lower price, and can a shopper make it an offer. Use it when a shopper asks about price matching, price guarantees, or making an offer at a named store.
1. Name the retailer the way the shopper did; the Registry matches on name, domain or slug and offers candidates if the name is ambiguous.
2. Use will_price_match for a price-match question, can_make_offer for an offer question, price_policy for everything verified about one retailer, and retailers_that_price_match for a list by country and category.
3. Report the answer as given. Unknown means the Registry has not verified it; say so and suggest the shopper check the retailer's site. Do not turn unknown into yes or no.
4. Say a retailer takes offers only when can_make_offer answers yes. Never imply a "not yet" retailer negotiates.
5. Link the retailer's policy page and its Registry page when the result includes them.
6. The data is CC BY 4.0. Attribute as "The Bidit Registry (registry.bidit.com.au)".
