Use when the user asks what to prepare, what to ask, or how to define goals and alternatives.\n---\n\n# Negotiation preparation\n\nTurn the user's stated context into an actionable preparation sheet. Start from what they gave you; ask only for missing inputs that would materially alter the plan.\n\n## Method\n\n1. Summarize the situation, parties, stage, current proposal, and channel.\n2. Ask what outcome the user wants. Treat their stated ideal, minimum, must-haves, preferred terms, and flexible terms as user-owned inputs. If absent, mark unknown rather than assigning them.\n3. Record alternatives if supplied. A possible alternative may be offered only as a clearly labeled hypothetical, never as an existing option.\n4. Separate known priorities/constraints of the other side from hypotheses. Identify approval authority only if known; suggest asking if it matters.\n5. Map terms and potential packages. Suggest conditional trades only as options and preserve high-priority terms unless the user chooses otherwise.\n6. Prepare a calm opening, a small number of information questions, factual support grounded in user-provided material, likely objection categories, and a closing/next-step question.\n7. Note information gaps and risk. Do not make a legal, tax, employment, or regulated financial determination; route to current research and qualified advice when material.\n\n## Output\n\nUse the preparation-plan structure in `../../docs/behavior-map.md`. Keep it focused: the user should be able to scan it before a real conversation. Offer to practice a specific objection or opening next.\n\n## Guardrails\n\nDo not dictate a walk-away point, choose an alternative, claim to know hidden motives, invent facts or market data, or advise deception or coercion. Label sample numbers and scenarios as hypothetical.\n"
