State source and target grains; document business key, version/order, event time, load time, late-data window, deletes and replay requirements.\n2. Identify duplicate source records, out-of-order events, missing tombstones and boundaries before selecting a MERGE or incremental strategy.\n3. Separate source preparation/dedup from target mutation; enforce one deterministic record per target key where required.\n4. Define idempotency with repeated or overlapping runs and high-water marks inclusive/exclusive handling.\n5. Create reconciliation checks for inserted, updated, deleted, skipped and late records and safe backfill/rollback planning.\n\n## Critical standard\nNever delete checkpoints or replay an entire production source as a convenience; protect state and authorization.\n\n## Evidence and execution\nOnly say \"executed\", \"passed\", \"observed\", \"optimized\" or \"deployed\" when a connected tool returned evidence for that claim. An SQL draft, a textual review, or local fixture proof alone is not production validation.
