Competitor profile

Developer declarations; not independently tested. Listing last checked Nov 4, 2026. Package observed Nov 4, 2026.

Declared capabilities

  • Check setup progress and do the next step
  • Teach Aide a website and write knowledge articles
  • Change and test the AI agent in a private preview

Cost & access

Aide does not sell products, take payments or move money between accounts. Refunds and cancellations run only on the merchant's own Shopify store connected to their Aide workspace, and a refund goes back to the order's original payment. They run within the approval limits the workspace sets: a change above the user's limit waits for an admin. Tools that change an order are marked destructive, so ChatGPT can ask the user to confirm before running them.

Declared limitations

  • Unsupported deletion: no Aide tool deletes conversations
  • Money transfer: Aide moves no money apart from refunding an order on the merchant's own store
  • Another workspace: the sign-in is bound to the one workspace the user approved

Description

From the marketplace listing

Aide is an AI customer service platform. Its AI agent answers your customers in a chat widget on your website and by email, or inside Zendesk, Front and Gorgias, from your knowledge base and Shopify orders, and hands what it can't resolve to your team with a summary. This plugin connects ChatGPT to your Aide workspace. You sign in as yourself, and ChatGPT can do what your role in Aide allows. Set up Aide from ChatGPT: - Check what's left before Aide answers your customers, and do the next step together: company details, knowledge, a test of the agent, a channel, then going live. - Teach Aide your website or help center, import a site again, and write articles for what the site doesn't say. - Change the agent's name, instructions, greeting and signature, and test it with customer questions in a private preview no customer sees. - Get the chat widget snippet to paste on your site, add your support email address and test that it forwards to Aide, or get a link to connect Gmail, Shopify, Zendesk, Front or Gorgias in your browser. Choose where Aide's drafts appear in a connected helpdesk. - Deploy the agent, choose which inboxes it answers, and pause it at any time. Work your support queue: - Find conversations by keyword, status, priority, assignee, team, topic, channel or helpdesk ticket id, and read their messages, Aide's reply draft, the customer's orders and CRM details. - Add internal notes, fill in a macro, change a conversation's status, priority, assignee or team, and reply to the customer on the conversation's channel. Knowledge and orders: - Search your help center articles, website pages, products and macros, and read them in full with a link to the source. ChatGPT can also search and cite them as company knowledge. - Look up a customer's Shopify orders by email or order number, with status, items, fulfillment and tracking, and check what on an order can be returned. - Refund or cancel an order on your Shopify store, and approve or reject order changes waiting for approval. A change above your approval limit waits for an admin. Analytics: conversation volume, AI resolution, handoffs, response times and customer satisfaction. Who it is for: owners, admins and agents of an Aide workspace. Setting up, changing, testing and deploying the agent, and analytics, are for owners and admins. How access works: you sign in with your Aide account and approve the connection on Aide's consent screen, which shows what ChatGPT asked to do: read only, or read and act. ChatGPT sees only what you can see in Aide, and every action is recorded as you. Tools that message a customer, change an order, deploy the agent or turn on AI replies for an inbox are marked destructive, so ChatGPT can ask you to confirm before using them. You can disconnect ChatGPT at any time in Aide under Settings > Developers. Limitations: - Requires an Aide account. The plugin works only in the workspace you approve when you sign in. - Order lookups and order actions need a Shopify store connected to Aide. - You finish connecting Gmail, Shopify or a helpdesk on that service's sign-in page in your browser, and you paste the chat snippet on your site and turn on forwarding in your email provider yourself. - A reply sent to a customer cannot be unsent, and a refund cannot be reversed. - The plugin cannot delete conversations or manage teammates.

name: set-up-aide
description: Set up Aide until its AI agent answers the user's customers. Use when the user asks to set up, configure, test or launch Aide, or when get_setup_status shows the workspace is not live.
---

Use the Aide tools to take the workspace to live, one step at a time. The user's explicit instructions take priority over these steps.

1. Call get_setup_status. It gives the `nextStep` and, for each step, the `tool` that does it. Do the steps in order and call get_setup_status again after each one.
2. Company details: ask the questions the step's `detail` lists, in one message, and save the answers with update_workspace.
3. Knowledge: add the company's website with add_website. It imports in the background, so carry on and check it later with get_knowledge_source. Write what the user tells you that the site doesn't say with add_knowledge_article.
4. Agent: read it with get_agent and change it with update_agent when the user asks. Try it with test_agent and continue_agent_test, and show the user the answers.
5. Channel: for website chat, give the user the snippet from get_chat_widget_install to paste on their site. For a support address, call add_support_email, tell the user the address to forward it to, then call send_forwarding_test. For Gmail, Shopify, Zendesk, Front or Gorgias, give the user the link from connect_integration to finish in their browser; once a helpdesk is connected, call set_up_helpdesk.
6. Going live: deploy_agent and set_inbox_ai make Aide answer real customers. Call them only after the user confirms. pause_agent stops the agent.

Do not call start_trial. If a step needs a feature the workspace's plan doesn't include, say which feature, and that the plan is changed in the Aide dashboard. If a tool returns an error, tell the user what it said instead of guessing.

name: support-queue
description: Work through the Aide support queue. Use when the user wants to find conversations that need a person, read them with the customer's orders, and prepare a note or reply for the user to approve.
---

Use the Aide tools to help the user work their support queue. The user's explicit instructions take priority over these steps.

1. Find conversations with find_conversation, using the view `needs_a_person` or the filters the user names.
2. For each conversation the user picks, read it with get_conversation and list_messages, and check get_draft for Aide's draft reply.
3. If the customer asks about an order, read get_conversation_orders. For returns, use check_return_eligibility.
4. Answer policy questions from the workspace's knowledge with search_knowledge, and name the article you used.
5. Show the user the reply or note you propose. Send it with reply_to_conversation or add_note only after the user approves the exact text.

Do not refund, cancel, or approve or reject an order change unless the user asks for that action on a specific order. If a tool returns an error or no result, tell the user what it said instead of guessing.

Release notes

Set up Aide from ChatGPT: check setup progress, teach Aide a website or write articles, change and test the agent in a private preview, get the chat widget snippet, add a support email, connect Gmail, Shopify or a helpdesk from a sign-in link, and deploy or pause the agent. The plugin still searches Aide knowledge, looks up Shopify orders, works conversations, handles order changes within approval limits and reads support analytics. Sign in with an Aide account and approve the access ChatGPT asks for.
