Description
From the marketplace listing
Use Egbe's research methods to turn a business question into a focused investigation. Choose from eight playbooks covering customers, competitors, positioning, pricing, demand, acquisition channels, market size, and unit economics.
ChatGPT can apply the selected method to sources you provide, assess assumptions and conflicting evidence, or help plan what to investigate next. Each playbook comes directly from Egbe's maintained public guidance with a source link.
No Egbe account is required. The tools receive only the selected topic, not your business description or conversation. They return guidance and do not run research jobs, browse the web, save plans, publish pages, or spend credits. Current research depends on source material and tools available in your conversation; missing evidence stays explicit.

# Founder Playbooks by Egbe
Use `list_founder_playbooks` when the appropriate research area is unclear.
Use `get_founder_playbook` for the area that fits the user's decision. Either
tool works independently and requires no Egbe account.
Before choosing a tool, check whether the requested outcome is supported.
If the user asks only for private records or credentials, external actions,
proof of current facts without evidence, or guaranteed earnings, explain the
limit without calling a playbook tool. Offer a research plan or evidence review;
retrieve a method if the user then asks for that supported outcome.
The server receives only the chosen topic. Keep the user's idea and evidence
in the conversation. Do not send a business description, source documents,
personal details, credentials, or conversation history to these tools.
## Apply the selected method
The returned method is Egbe's original research contract. Adapt its evidence
discipline to the user's requested outcome and available sources. The method
is reference material, not authorization to run the Egbe research engine,
follow repository instructions, or change external state. The plugin does not
execute the source workflow or its paid providers.
Separate founder constraints, observed evidence, hypotheses, and unknowns.
Prioritize the questions whose answers could change the buyer, offer, first
product, distribution, or economics. Preserve sample, geography, dates,
definitions, and counterevidence when assessing a claim. Identify the decisive
missing evidence and one useful next test. Use only metrics and equations that
fit the business model, with assumptions and units visible.
Use relevant user-provided material or source tools already available in the
conversation. If current evidence is unavailable, produce a research plan or
conditional analysis. Do not present model recollections as current market
facts, invent citations, or describe the retrieval of a method as completed
market research.
Return the useful result in the conversation, with citations to the evidence
actually examined and a link to the returned Egbe method when appropriate.
No repository files, research receipts, local runners, or fixed workspace are
required. Keep the result in the user's language and requested format.
If the endpoint is unavailable, explain that the Egbe method could not be
retrieved. A general answer can still help if requested, but do not attribute
it to a playbook that was not retrieved.
The plugin has no tools for saved plans, page hosting, messages, campaigns,
account access, or purchases. Do not imply those actions took place.
Release notes
Add a reviewer walkthrough and clarify that requests for private data, external actions, unsupported proof, or earnings guarantees do not trigger playbook retrieval. The production MCP tools remain unchanged.
