Description

From the marketplace listing

Print address labels from a list or a spreadsheet without opening Word. Paste names and addresses, or attach a CSV or Excel file, and get a print-ready PDF that lines up with standard US Letter label sheets, such as the 5160 size (30 per sheet, 1 x 2-5/8 in) and its equivalents 8160, 5260 and 18160. What you can make: - Mailing and address labels for Christmas cards, wedding invitations and newsletters (5160, 5161, 5162) - Return address labels: one address repeated to fill a sheet (5167, 80 per sheet; 5195, 60 per sheet) - Shipping labels for Etsy or Shopify orders on sheet labels (5163, 5164, 5168, 5126 half sheets) - Name badges and name tags (5395, 5390 inserts, 22805 square labels) - Place cards that fold in half, with the name readable from both sides (5302 tent cards) - File folder labels (5366) How it works: name, street, apartment, city, state and ZIP columns are found from the headings, including Google Contacts, Outlook, Etsy and Shopify exports, or you can say which column is which. US addresses are formatted the USPS way (City, ST 12345), state names become two-letter codes, and ZIP codes that lost their leading zero in Excel (2134 becomes 02134) are fixed. Long names and addresses shrink to fit the label. Start on any label of a partly used sheet (for example label 7), print copies of each label, sort by ZIP or name, add outlines, or print an alignment test page first. Letters with accents, Polish, Greek and Cyrillic names print correctly. The preview in the chat shows the first sheet with each label in place, a sheet picker and a starts-at-label control. You also get a cleaned address list as CSV with problems per row (missing ZIP, unknown state, duplicates). Limitations: US Letter sheets only; addresses are formatted but not verified against USPS data; no postage, barcodes or label printers; up to 10,000 rows per file and 15,000 labels per PDF; Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew and emoji characters are left out of the PDF. Avery is a trademark of its owner; Sheetwise Label Maker is not affiliated with it and only prints to the same sheet sizes.

# Sheetwise Label Maker

Tools: `generate_label_sheet` (the PDF), `find_label_template` (sheet sizes and margins), `check_mailing_list` (review a list before printing).

1. When the user gives names and addresses, call `generate_label_sheet` right away. Put each address in `labels` as an object
   (`name`, `company`, `address1`, `address2`, `city`, `state`, `zip`, `country`) or as text with lines separated by `\n`.
When they attach a CSV or Excel file, pass it in `file`; columns are detected. Pass `columns` only if the user names unusual headings.
2. Pick `kind` from the request: address (default), return_address, shipping, name_badge, place_card, file_folder, general.
Pass the product number the user mentions in `template` (8160, 18160 and 5260 all mean the 5160 layout). Without one, the kind picks a default.
3. Partly used sheet: "start at label 7" means `start_at: 7`. "Two of each" means `copies: 2`. One return address for a whole sheet:
`kind: "return_address"` with one label (it fills the sheet; `sheets` sets how many).
4. USPS all-caps style only if asked (`uppercase: true`). Sort by ZIP only if asked.
5. After the call, share the label count, the sheet, any problems found (missing ZIP, unknown state), and the PDF and CSV links.
Remind the user to print at 100% / Actual size. Suggest `alignment_test: true` if they worry about alignment.

Do not use for buying postage or carrier shipping labels, label-maker tape printers, barcodes, or nutrition labels.
